I have been serving the accounting and tax needs of individuals and owners of small to mid-sized businesses in North Carolina, Colorado, Arizona and nationwide since I founded Lambertus CPA in 2009. In addition to taxes, client engagements have also included: 

• Calculating simple, repeatable product costing so clients with side gigs or craft businesses can better determine profitable pricing for their efforts.
• Developing key metrics and performance indicators (KPI’s) which clients can easily monitor to help keep their revenues rolling in.
• Assisting new clients become current with their tax compliance who hadn’t been for many years, often due to complicated family transitions.
• Providing expert witness testimony to support a legal judgment for my client by re-creating past financial transactions (over several years) to identify fraudulent withdrawals.
• Suggesting simple process controls clients can implement to increase their likelihood of proper handling of their financial transactions, cash and other assets and reduce errors.

Before starting Lambertus CPA, I spent 14 years in public accounting firms (regional and Big 4) providing audits, controls and compliance services to a wide variety of organizations. I rounded out the rest of my career with private enterprises in various technical positions including internal audit, director of securities and regulatory reporting, and governance, risk, controls and compliance advisor. 

I am a native West Virginian (Montani Semper Liberi) and graduated from Vanderbilt University, where during my senior year I took an accounting class and never looked back.  I moved to Colorado to ski while working my way through night school at the University of Colorado to earn a Master’s degree in Accounting.  I began my professional accounting career in Denver and fell in love with the west.  When I am not working, I still enjoy skiing, furniture carpentry, and attempting to play golf.
